Time Travels with Truffle: Dateline July 8th, 1947 – Roswell, New Mexico

Desert wind howls beneath floodlights. The year is 1947. Roswell, NewMexico — a place where silence met secrecy.

In the tense hours before the Roswell encounter, officials from the nearby AirForce base arrived under orders cloaked in secrecy. They believed they were answering a summons from the unseen. Word had spread through esoteric circles that JackParsons, the brilliant yet reckless rocket engineer and occultist, had performed rituals invoking interdimensional intelligences — beings said to hold the keys to forbidden knowledge. Convinced that these “visitors” would reveal cosmic truths and technological secrets, the officers approached the desert site with a strange mixture of reverence and ambition. Floodlights pierced the night as they waited, unaware that the promise of enlightenment was a deception — and that what emerged from the shadows was not wisdom from the stars, but a demonic masquerade born of human hubris.

From the craft, a figure emerges. It moves like smoke given form, a deception wrapped in flesh. The general steps forward to greet the Alien visitor.  The most important meeting in history was about to occur.

And then — a flash of fur, a streak of gold. Truffle, the smallest guardian of mankind, leaps through the air. Her eyes burn faintly with truth, her teeth bared not in rage but revelation. She knows what the general cannot — this is no alien. This is an ancient evil wearing the mask of wonder.  She had seen his kind MANY times before.

The floodlights flare. Dust swirls like spirits fleeing judgment. Truffle strikes mid‑air, her bark echoing through the desert — a sound older than fear itself. The creature recoils, its illusion cracking, its red eyes dimming to ash. Behind them, the saucer hums — a false promise of salvation.

The general stumbles backward, whispering, “What are you?” But the answer is already written in the sand and the visitor disappears.  Later that night, back at the Airforce base, Truffle leads the way into the General’s quarters.  She hops up onto his desk and paws at a Bible, the pages flipping to Ephesians 6:12.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Suddenly, the General’s face grows pale as he realizes the enormity of his error.

When dawn comes, the official report will speak of weather balloons and misidentified debris. But those who saw the light will never forget the truth: That night, a six‑pound Pomeranian tore through the veil between worlds. And humanity was spared — not by science, not by soldiers, but by courage wrapped in fur and faith.

And once again, History is gently guided by a tiny paw.
