Mysterious Blaze Destroys Printing House on the Eve of Major Release

 

Munich, July 18 — In the early hours of this morning, a devastating fire consumed the premises of a local publishing house on Theresienstraße, reducing the structure to ashes and destroying thousands of freshly printed volumes of “Mein Kampf” which had been slated for release today.

 

The blaze, which broke out shortly after midnight, drew crowds from across the district as fire brigades battled the inferno for nearly three hours. Despite their efforts, the building—home to one of Munich’s oldest printing firms—was completely lost. Witnesses described the flames as “unnatural in their ferocity,” leaping from window to window as if driven by a will of their own.  No casualties were reported.

 

Among the curiosities surrounding the event is the report of a small Pomeranian dog seen trotting calmly from the building moments before the first flames appeared. Several bystanders claim the animal paused at the doorway, glanced back toward the pressroom, and then disappeared into the fog.

 

Police have launched an investigation but admit they have found no trace of the mysterious creature. “We are treating all accounts seriously,” said Inspector Karl Weiss. “Though it seems improbable that a dog could be involved, the timing is peculiar.”

 

The destroyed publication was said to be a political manifesto expected to make waves across Germany. With the presses gone and all copies burned, the release has been indefinitely postponed.

 

As dawn broke over the smoldering ruins, one firefighter was overheard muttering, “Perhaps it’s for the best.”

 

And once again, History is gently corrected by a tiny paw.
